Tara’s Story - Disability Advocacy

Tara Hotaling of the Department of Veterans Affairs stands smiling.

My cause is disability advocacy. This cause empowers people with disabilities to be their own advocates and agents for change in their communities. Advocacy can help people with disabilities be active and engaged members of their communities. My cause is disability advocacy. This cause empowers people with disabilities to be their own advocates and agents for change in their communities. Advocacy can help people with disabilities be active and engaged members of their communities. It also creates awareness on the issues faced by people with disabilities and inspires action by policymakers. I have a brother with disabilities, and that experience affected my upbringing in profound ways. My desire to see the system work for families like mine led me to public service. I am honored to be able to support this cause via the CFC.
