Several years ago, my mother-in-law’s hands became so riddled with arthritis she was unable to prepare food for herself. Through a CFC-supported charitable organization that delivered healthy meals directly to her home, my mother-in-law was able to maintain her independence and dignity while aging with her debilitating condition. This is just one example of the many worthy charities available to receive your donations through our Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). I urge you to take a moment and consider supporting CFC charities that are personally important to you.
We have just a few weeks remaining in this year’s CFC before we take a much deserved Thanksgiving break to remember the reasons we are all so thankful. While some of our extended family members, friends, and fellow Americans bear the burden of job loss and the accompanying challenges, the vast majority of we Airmen have enjoyed job security and health care that are the envy of corporate America and the world. The CFC offers us the chance to give back and to help our very own DoD colleagues, our family, friends, or other causes we personally value. As you make your Thanksgiving plans this year, I ask that you take a few moments to thoughtfully consider contributing through the Combined Federal Campaign. Your donations, no matter the amount, will make a difference!
I express my sincere appreciation for those who have already contributed. Your generosity and commitment to service are inspiring and a constant reminder of what it means to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
