Announcing the 2014 CFC-O Coin Contest Winner!

The CFC-O is thrilled to announce the winner of the 2014 Coin Design Contest: Cristina Piosa, a self-proclaimed “military brat” and army wife. Artwork was judged on originality, depiction of the CFC-O theme, “Give Because You Care,” and suitability for printing on the coin.

“This coin design echoes the spirit of the campaign: honoring our country and giving to people in need in communities around the world,” said Victoria Adams, Executive Director of the CFC-O. “We are proud to present this coin to our 2014 contributors as a token of appreciation for giving so generously both in service to their country and those in need.”

Cristina explains, “Growing up in the military community I have seen the Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas be a part of my life. Having my husband and brother in the US Army, I feel strongly about the CFC annual campaigns. We are blessed to live in a nation where we can contribute to help others, and I wanted to depict that patriotism for this upcoming campaign.” Cristina is stationed in Fort Benning, GA with her husband, who is with the 75th Ranger Regiment.

In March, the CFC-O accepted entries for their annual Coin Design Contest, open to all Department of Defense employees and their family members. Cristina’s design will be replicated on coins and distributed to select contributors through the 2014 CFC-O. Beginning in 2011, the CFC-O has presented contributors who meet eligibility criteria with a commemorative coin as a token of appreciation.
