The Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas (CFC-O), the annual workplace giving campaign for the Department of Defense (DoD), is pleased to announce the winners of the Department of Defense Dependents Schools (DoDDS) PSA Contest. This was the fourth year that the CFO-O teamed with DoDDS Europe and Pacific and Armed Forces Network (AFN) to raise awareness about the CFC-O and to give youth in the DoDDS a chance to share the campaign’s key messages using their creative video production skills.
The winners of the 2012 contest are:
• First Place: Kadena High School (Japan)
• Second Place: Ramstein High School (Germany)
• Third Place: Ansbach High School (Germany)
• Honorable Mentions: Ryukyu Middle School (Japan) and Wiesbaden High School (Germany)
“The DoDDs PSA Contest gives youth a creative outlet to use their media talents and energize the campaign while learning about the importance of charitable giving. Their hard work is evident in the quality videos submitted and it is an honor for the campaign to use these videos when encouraging personnel to give,” said Victoria Adams, CFC-O Executive Director at Global Impact, which administers the CFC-O.
Seventeen schools across the European and Pacific Commands submitted a total of 51, 29-second videos that were posted online during the spring for a public vote. Thousands of viewers and voters responded to the PSA contest. AFN will air the top PSAs during the campaign season. The 2012 CFC-O runs from 17 September to 16 November.
